How to get rid of that awful fish smell!!

I love pan fried whole fish but its awful smell prevents me from making it.
I burn candles and open all the windows in the house but the whole house smells like a big fried fish. Help!! There must be a better way that I don't know about.

  1. A great way to freshen your kitchen is to put a half a lemon in your garbage disposal. And be sure to clean the fish pan right away!

    1. Vinegar neutralizes the smell. Put a small bowl of white vinegar next to your stove.

      1. What about when making egg salad- my son loves it but my husband hates the smell....any thoughts?

I've tried the lemon in disposal, didn't quite do it

You have to hard boil your eggs properly. Doing it right won't cause that sulfur smell. You are probably overcooking them. Put eggs in pot and barely cover with water. Bring to a boil and take pot off of burner and cover. Let sit for maximum 20 minutes. Then cool the eggs in ice water.

        2. There have been a couple of threads on this topic in the past month or so. Here are some links for your reference:

          1. Simmer cinnamon sticks, whole cloves and crushed whole nutmeg in a small saucepan for a few hours, replenishing the water as necessary.
