cloud type ice cream???

  • 3

Hi all,

i read a couple months ago (i think it was on a video game website) about this fancy new ice cream/shaved ice thing. all i can recall is that it was some new machine that makes these ice shavings and the result is a really light and airy product. there was a line formed even though it was raining/cold there.

does anyone know what i'm talking about and where i can get some?

  1. The very popular ice cream at the moment in Tokyo is "Cold Stone Ice Cream" in Roppongi. I went the other day, it was freezing cold, and there was still a line. I have walked by on hot days and the line went well around the corner.

They have them in the states.

There are several shops in Tokyo. The most accessible is in Roppongi, on Roppongi Dori between Almond and Roppongi Hills on your left hand side.

    1. I haven't heard of what this is, but doubt that it's Coldstone...(I still can't figure out why Japanese people welcome stuff like Coldstone and Krispy Kremes when they do it much better). However, I had a wonderful scoop of chocolate ice cream at Del Rey in Ginza.

      It was 2,300 yen/cup :)

I still like to stop by Kihachi for their ice cream whenever I get a chance...

I love the soft serve black sesame ice cream at Kihachi, either alone or in a twist with the rich milk flavor, and have been known to "get a chance" to stop by for it more than once in a day!
