PGA National Area

Well the in-laws did it. They bought a condo at PGA National. Travelling down there next week with family....teen aged kids...Looking for restaurant suggestions. Would prefer to avoid chains if possible. American, Italian, Mexican, any ethnic is fine.

  1. PGA National is in what part of Florida???? It is a good thing to mention the City as not all of us know the golf communities or retirement villages by name. There happen to be many in Florida.

    1. re: Windsor

      Sorry Windsor.

      West Palm Beach area.

    2. Check out Vic & Angelo's on PGA Blvd. for Italian food and great pizzas. Sit outdoors, enjoy a quartino of wine and play a game of bocce. Cafe Chardonnay is across the street from VIc & Angelo's and has been a classic on the restaurant scene serving very good continental cuisine. For the best seafood in the area drive to Jupiter and go to Little Moir's Food Shack. Get one of the crusted fish and order the grouper cheek appitizer and you won't be sorry. The atmosphere is a casual and beachy, kind of surf kitch. They don't take reservations, but it is definitely worth the wait. Good luck.

      1. Spoto's Oyster bar and Spoto's oakwood grill are very close and are excellamnt! Needless to say the OOyster bar is seafood and the grill is a great steakhouse

        1. Thanks all and keep it coming. I visited the area briefly once before and ate at Spoto's Oyster Bar....Food was creative and fresh, and the atmosphere warm.

          1. Ebisu Japanese is in the shopping center right at the entrance to PGA National. Very good.

Also check out Downtown at the Gardens, the new open-air shopping mall located at Alternate A1A and PGA Blvd. Lots of good restaurants. I hear good things about Rosa Mexicano, particularly.
