2005 Sancerre-Chavignol, Les Montes Damnés, Domaine Thomas-Labaille (Loire, France): Pale in color, almost completely clear, with a slight greenish cast at the rim; the bouquet is positively classic, with abundant minerality, focused varietal character, and already showing some depth and development; the wine is at once rich and flavorful yet still laser focused and crisp. The result is an amazing wine that remains one of my all-time favorites.
