1999 Grüner Veltliner, Alte Reben, Weingut Familie Nigl (Kremstal, Austria): Pale straw in color, still with a greenish cast at the rim, clear and brilliant to the eye; the bouquet combines lime zest, minerality and ripe fruit; on the palate, the wine is still youthful, yet with considerable depth and richness, with generous fruit and spice; it is mouthfilling, yet possesses good structure and acidity, and a long finish. Quite delicious.
