Road trip from SF to Mendocino and back...best veggie picks?

My husband and I are headed up to SF in a couple of weeks to launch a road trip following this route:
SF
Point Reyes
Gualala (St. Orres)
Mendocino
Petaluma
back in SF

I'm overwhelmed by the information about restaurants on this board,and am looking for specific recs about budget friendly (though we're up for a few splurges here and there, though not of the french laundry category of splurge); veggie friendly (eats fish) restaurants. Are there any local specialties we should seek out? thanks in advance for your help.

I don't know of any vegetarian fare in west Marin, but if you come as far in as Fairfax, Lydia's Lovin' Foods is pretty good, and has both 'cooked' and raw fare:

Other Marin vegetarian choices can be found on my blog, but they are not in the specific areas you mention going -- more in Eastern/Southern Marin County. Have fun!

I have a recommendation near Mendocino for an awsome vegetarian experience, but am stumped as to how to post it since the "Chowhound Team" above said to post it at a link that does not have a link to your question. Perhaps they can weigh in on how I can do it on the other board so that you'll see the answer is related to your question?
