La Fontaine de Mars - closed for renovation

We walked past the restaurant last night (Sat 17th March 07) and noticed it is closed for serious renovations. From reading the "permit to build" sign on the outside it appears that they are replacing the staircase and remodeling both the ground and first floors.

The work looks very extensive and may take some time. There was no obvious indication when they would reopen.

I know this is a popular recommendation, as it caters for English speakers very well. Thus thought it best to forewarn those who wanted to go.

Fontaine de Mars should reopen on 1st May 2007.

Fontaine de Mars opened today and the renovation took over the space formerly occupied by its annex, Auvergne Gourmande
