BYOB in Durham/Chapel Hill/Raleigh

I feel I've been hearing conflicting information about BYOB in NC. Some say you can't do it, others say it depends on the restaurant. So, if you know that you can do it, and of a restaurant that allows it, could we start a list here, with corkage fees, please?

    1. I think most places in the area are fine with it, though it should be noted that, unlike in other states, you can't BYOB at places that don't have a permit to sell.

      1. Squids in Chapel Hill allows you to bring your own wine, and as of our last dinner there still does not charge a corking fee. We have been taking my own wines to party there with the seafood dishes for at least 3 years, and love their attitude and assistance regarding this issue.

        1. A RTP hotel restaurant/bar told me to leave with my wine because it could result in revoking their license - haven't tried to brown bag in this area again. The ABC permit application has sections just for brownbagging
