Skooby's Status

sku Mar 16, 2007 08:45 PM

I drove by the Hollywood Blvd. Skooby's this evening and it was closed, metal grate down and everything...on Friday night. Please tell me they aren't gone and this is just some sort of momentary lapse.

No, they are NOT closing down, but they were shorthanded this week and had to shorten their hours. Also, the hours of operation will be changing in the near future to 11 AM - 10 PM. Received this info via email when I queried about them being closed earlier than usual this week.

Their website (which was up the day before last) is now offline: www.skoobys.com

I hope it's just a scheduling issue...we really enjoyed it the other night.

Well, I was there last night (Thursday, Aug, 19) at 7 p.m., and it was tighter than my uncle Ned. Heck of a way to sell hot dogs -- there was plenty of street traffic.

            Hi Muskrat,

Note that this thread is over three years old!

I did, but that was the most recent mention of Skooby's on the board. Their website is still up, as is the signage, and nobody here has declared them closed.

I wound up at Mel's. A little more expensive, but their $9 special is a pretty good deal. But that's for another thread...

There are about 50 threads mentioning Skooby's since this one. Did you select "Newest First" in the search results? Note that the new search (introduced 10 days ago) defaults to "Best Match".

Are you sure you were at their location? They are open and will be slinging dogs and great fries until midnight tonight.

One other thought. Sometimes when they have a problem like no hot water or what have you places are forced to close until they get the problem fixed. Maybe something along those lines occured.

I was just there on Thursday for dinner...I wonder if I was one of the final few!

Say it isn't so!!! Would make sense though...all the good things are leaving or have left Hollywood by now.
