girls night out - Baltimore

I changed the topic from bachelorette dinner/dancing, b/c i think that scares people from looking :)

I searched the back posts, but all I can come up with is Red Maple or Pazo. I've been to both too many times, anyone have any new fun ideas? There will be about 15 of us (late 20s/early 30s). Looking for a really fun place that maybe has dancing, but we could always go somewhere else after...

  1. Not much into dancing, but:

    Owl Bar, 13th floor?
    Ruth Chris/Club One?
    Latin Palace?
    Gardel's?
    Tango Tapas/Sky Lounge?

    That's all I got.

    1. Thanks for the reply! I'm not much of a dancer either, I would rather just go out to eat :)

Have you ever been to Latin Palace, Gardels? Is their food any good?

I've been to Sky Lounge, but not in a couple years and have never tried the food. Is it any good?

I've not eaten at Latin Palace for a while; Gardel's can be good but is sometimes uneven. Food at Sky Lounge is probably best of the three; certainly a pretty interesting scene.

Also depends on what kind of music you're looking for. I'm realising that a lot of my dancing friends like to salsa (etc.) so that may be why they go to Latin Palace and Gardel's.

Brewer's Art / Owl Bar is a good suggestion.

      2. how about brewer's art. great place to hang out , have some yummy appetizers and drinks then head across the street to 13th floor for dancing.

        1. i've not eaten @ Latin Palace or Gardels but I've danced at both and was pretty...dissappointed. Its not the most sophisticated scene. For food, how about trying the new Lebanese Restaurant "La Taverna" that just opened downtown in Harbor East (they have a DC and Annapolis place) - the food has always been good. I'd suggest eating and dancing in diff places...the food and the scene @ Red Star in Fells Point is fun, but not really a dancing crowd; more upscale bar scene. Same again w/ Tapas Teatro, but fun. How about Mosaic? I know, its in the PowerPlant but the crowd is usually a bit older and less annoying than the rest of the place.

Funny suggestion b/c she is marrying a Lebanese guy, so maybe it's appropriate?

I've never even heard of Mosaic - I know nothing of the dancing scene in Baltimore...

Mosaic: it's at the Power Plant. http://www.mosaic-lounge.com/home.htm

BTW, a lot of my friends go to Sonar, which is not far from Club One.

One other suggestion, there's a new place downtown on Calvert called Xanadu. Great looking place; I've had pretty good food there. Maybe you go there and then head over to Sonar or Club One?
