Casual Dining in Financial District?

A friend is doing a reading at Cody's Bookstore on Stockton and Market tonight at 7pm. We're thinking of going out afterwards with a bunch of other friends. There might be 5 people, there might be as many as 12. Some might have already have eaten, and want drinks and/or dessert; some may want dinner. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. I've been away for five years and I am not up to speed on the scene. Thanks.

    1. You can either head to the Embarcadero or towards the Bay and to the Ferry Building. There's also Market One where Market St. ends. There's also Perbacco which is near Embarko One or Two. Personally I think MarketBar is casual enough but the food's unreliable (Ferry Building) and Slanted Door is overrated (Ferry Building).

You can also go to to see what restaurants are around that area and see what tables are still available. Since you've been gone for five years, tables can be hard to come by sometimes without a prior reservation.
