so these are ridiculously good and available in Jersey City. These are soft, sweet and sticky coconut buns with a cheese topping and amazing amazing when put in a toaster oven for about 5 minutes.

get over there! the bakery is a chain from the philippines with many branches throughout california, and only one east coast outpost.

I didn't see them there, but I'm sure they do; they also sell those cakes more locally in Woodside, but I don't know where the best rendition is; I'll ask around tho!

Thanks for posting this--anything else I should try if I go to the bakery? I also really want to try some of the Filipino places by JSQ, I've never had Filipino food! Any recs for a restaurant to check out (and ordering suggestions?)?

unfortunately, I don't live in jersey, but lucky enough to live near woodside (Ihawan is my number one choice, but that's because I love their bbq), although I know there are tons of filipino places in the area. as for red ribbon, I only picked up the ensaimada, most other fiipino baked goods aren't quite different enough in terms of being a kind of cake, etc.

but definitely there should be some other great places, I'll ask around.
