Looking for a good (and reasonably priced) Moroccan place in the Broadway/Steinway area for dinner tonight.

if i'm not mistaken, the only moroccan place presently in business and open for dinner (as opposed to sandwich or take out) is jour et nuit, on steinway, in the block just south of the main stretch of little cairo, on the west side of the street. i haven't been there, but i've checked out the menu and it looks good and is reasonably priced. but from what i've heard, the really good moroccan food is in bayridge.

yeah i can't think of anywhere other than jour et nuit as well. there was another, marjana, but closed and reopened as egyptian recently.

Dandana on Broadway in the 40s is loungey but not sceney, though I cant speak for their samba-bellydancing-DJ Brazilian Nights. The crowd seems to be half North Africans of all ages, half everyone else.

Food's all right, nothing great, but they do serve alcohol and it's got a nice, relaxed feel. Not something I'd go out of my way for, but worth poking your head in if you're in that part of the neighborhood.

there is another place I have been meaning to go to, Walima, mentioned here: http://www.chowhound.com/topics/361812
I found Jour et Nuit a little bland.

I posted the review of this place a few weeks ago-- it is quite nice. Check it out-- no booze tho-- and the owner would rather you didn't bring it in.. just fyi..but he's very friendly and the food is good
