Have you lot heard about this new German food brand, Scampi diSanti? Essentially, they’re smoked black tiger prawns, but they’re described as “premium smoked seafood”. It sounds as though their image in Germany is like that of champagne/caviar/oysters-type luxury foods here. You’d be surprised how well the flavours of smoke and prawns go together; they taste really good. Apparently, it’s really tricky to smoke prawns without losing the crunchy texture and distinctive flavour, so these are something special.
