Does anyone have an opinion on this wine? I got a bottle of the Casa Lapostolle Clos Apalta 2004 limited release given to me, and would like to hear some feedback about it. Anyone?
Haven't had the '04 but it is a consistently very good to exceptional bottle of wine. Generally in the 92.5 point category for me.
I have to agree, I haven't had the 04, but that wine is consistently great! Grill up some beef and let us know what you think,
Awesome, thanks. I was considering letting it age for a few years first. Think it would be worth the wait?
Have several btls. of several vintages, but have not popped any yet. I have a thing "against" Chilean wines, reds especially, so when this wine was highly recommended to me, I could not resist. It's getting about time to try some of the earliest vintages. I've done several dinners, hosted by Alexandra Marnier Lapostolle, though we did not taste this wine. Unfortunately, it was difficult to answer my hostess, when she inquired, " how do like our lovely wines?" Honesty took a back seat to being a good guest. Now, the Clos Apalta. I will follow this thread and will start sampling some of my collection - sorry, but I do not have access to my cellar-base right now, so I cannot tell you the vintages.
Who knows, after many gallons of Chilean wine, that I resented having consumed (most was free from the distributors/retailers), I was turned on to the Santa Rita Casa Real Bdx. blend -- first Chilean that I would buy (other than the Apalta). I did that on a lark, based on trusted recs. so now, maybe there are two.
