Those of you familiar with this Berkeley based chain know that this is a great store for weird stuff at low prices. I love the Buena Park store because I like organic foods, junk food and low prices and this store often has organic junk foods for cheap since apparently nobody else buys that stuff around here.

I chatted up the manager and found that they're working on a new store in Fountain Valley. Also, they're looking to open a bunch of other stores in the area. Yay! I just hope they stay with the same formula and don't change. I wonder if that's possible.

So no post about Grocery Outlet is complete without a list of recent finds. So here goes:

Just bought a bunch of Horizon yogurt with cherry on the bottom. pints of yogurt are 3 for $1 here.

candy bars are 4 for a dollar unless they're big. this store still has a lot of Lindt Excellence chocolate bars, the pear flavor, at 99 cents. BTW, the Berkeley store ran out of these bars a long time ago. They also just got some dove organic choclate bars but at $1.89 they were out of my budget.

Avalon Organics hand and body lotion $5.

haagen dazs mint chocolate ice cream bar $.69 (99 cents at the berkeley store) it was delish.

wine selection here sucks compared to the bay area stores but i guess that is to be expected.

They just got some Vanilla Heath Bar Ben & Jerry's ice cream. $1.49. I bought some of the organic chocolate but don't get that because it wasn't stored properly (unless I did something wrong en route to home)

http://www.groceryoutlets.com/Locations.aspx?loc_Store=222

8960 Knott Ave
(No) Bueno Park CA

It's really too bad that it's the only location convenient to Los Angeles, unless you live near Palmdale/Lancaster.

Items I have found that have been great deals include 2lb Black Forest Ham wedge for $3.00, Hormel Applewood Bacon for $1.99, PollyO Mozzarella 1#=2.49, and 1/2 Gallon container of fresh grapefruit sections for $3.00. Most of the selections are canned goods (soups that are 30-50 cents/can, pie filling for 99 cents) There's a small selection of produce, two aisles of frozen food, a small meat/deli case, small wine selection, even smaller beer selection etc.

Also great for wines, you can find really great deals on decently rated wines. Much better than TJ's
