Neighboorhood lunch in SF

I am taking a friend out to celebrate her retirement. She lives near UCSF, but we can go to any neighborhood place. I am thinking there is a great choice in the Mission- not necessarily Latin. Any ideas -cuisine open?

Pomelo on Judah is a great neighbourhood spot.
In the Mission - Delfina and Range are my favourites!

Neither Delfina nor Range is open for lunch. Delfina Pizzeria is, though. How about Zuni?

Zuni's my favorite lunch place, especially on a sunny day.

        Pizzeria Delfina isn't very celebratory.

i like the dishes at pomelo but the restaurant is so small - maybe not big enough to really celebrate? i believe there's another location..

I vote for Zazie in Cole valley, especially if you're going during the week. The food is great, service friendly and they have a nice patio in back. A bit more casual than Zuni, which is a nice option too, but more "neighborhoody".
