Birthday dinner - somewhere like La Dijonaise

Good morning all!

I'm looking for a place to take the boyfriend for a birthday dinner. We're looking for somewhere with food like La Dijonaise, but a little more special-occasion atmosphere...a little dimmer lighting, quieter, etc. Any ideas? Location is flexible, but we'd prefer to stay west of downtown (or in downtown). This would be for Sunday...any tips would be most appreciated!

If you want a place that is romantic then give Orso on 3rd St., (just adjacent to Cedars Sinai hospital) a try. They have one of the prettiest patios in LA and have nice food to go with the setting. Twinkling lights, good wine and food and a quiet setting in the early evening.

Try 26 Beach Restaurant, make a reservation and request the garden, very cozy romantic feeling. I have taken a couple of dates and they love it.
