On second thought, let me rephrase: I also hope not, but you might as well call the airline, the "safety" regs are so inconsistent and full of holes anyway, it wouldn't surprise me if this hadn't occurred to anyone yet... And of all the things that can catch fire on a plane, the tiny bit of alloyed magnesium in these things is the last thing to worry about IMNSHO.
