There are signficant differences in where and how the circulon and Calphalon have traditionally been made. I am fairly certaint that the product formerly known as Calphalon Professional Nonstick is no longer being made, the closest to it would be Calphalon One Infused Nonstick. These have the all-metal constructiont hat is completely oven safe. All the aluminum is generally spun aluminum. It is also avaible as Infused w/o the nonstick. This stuff has been made in the traditional Calphalon method that results in a thicker, more uniform, and harder pan.
Circulon is generally stamped. It is not as thick, and not as hard. I believe both their "elite" and "Circulon 2" lines are onlu nonstick & have cushioned handles that are not oven safe.

Circulon Elite, Circulon Infinite and Anolon Advanced are your best bets. Newest technology, best bang for your buck and lifetime warranty. I am not a Consumer Reports follower but Anolon or Circulon are always listed in the top 10. I love my Infinite Circulon which is there newest line 10pc Set Hard Anodized @$350 and dishwasher safe.. NOW i love to cook ! In my opinion Calphalon is overrated and over priced . Happy shopping
