Soup dumplings sans pork?

Does anyone know of any restaurants in the Bay Area that make soup dumplings without any pork or beef? My wife can't eat either but I know she'd love soup dumplings if there are any poultry, seafood or veggie based versions about.

Thanks in advance!

    I recently went to ...

    Just Wonton in the sunset
    1241 Vicente (btwn 23/24 Ave)

with a friend who doesn't eat pork..she asked and was told that she could get shrimp wonton AND/OR shrimp dumplings with just shrimp and no pork......

The recently-opened Dim Sum Bar in the Tenderloin (on O'Farrell, near Leavenworth) carries vegetarian baos and sometimes veggie soup dumplings, as well. They aren't great, but if you're in the area, you might want to check them out.

I'm 99% positive Shanghai Dumpling on 35th Ave/Balboa serves veggies ones. They're not the big dumplings but rather the small ones...I think a dozen is in an order.

My message might have been off topic or I responded to the wrong type of soup dumplings. I thought the OP meant - Shanghai "soup" dumplings, with the soup INSIDE, often referred to as Shanghai soup dumplings, as opposed to wonton in soup. My error.

No, you're right and I didn't name them properly. I am interested in the Shanghai soup dumplings with the soup inside the dumpling itself.

              Thanks!

On this board, they're more commonly dubbed by their chinese name, xiao long bao or XLB.

it is my understanding even crab soup dumplings have pork in them but you could ask around. the "soup" in soup dumplings, be they pork or crab, is made from aspic... usually pork.
