Tasting Menu for Sunday Anniversary Dinner?

The SO and I are marking 15 yrs together this weekend; lucky us, the big day falls just after St. Patty's Day, always a restaurant challenge. Rather than head out on SPD/Sat night, this year we've decided to attempt some casual elegance on Sunday evening. Thanks to the many recommendation here we've enjoyed tasting menus at Opus (many times, love it), Providence, Noe, Grace and Bastide (RIP). We've had great meals at Ortolan and AOC, Table 8 and Lucques, Spago and Campanile; SO prefers to try something new.

Been wanting to try Sona, but it's closed on Sunday. We're not big fans of Joachim Splichal, and we do too many steakhouses, so prefer to try Cut another time. Ideal place would be cushy booth with a tasting menu, no attitude, no rush, not miles and miles from Silverlake.

Places we've been mulling over: Royale on Wilshire, Simon LA, Blue Velvet (scared about bad service and hype esp after SIV review), Social Hollywood (?), Hatfields. Help! Thanks in advance.

LOL! Alas, Melisse is not open Sun-Mon. But thanks for the budget strategy. Money's not an issue so much so I'm actually toying with Spago now, since we've never tried the tasting menu there.

Melisse! It's a little farther from Silverlake...but totally worth hiring a car for the experience.

A chowhound (I wish I remembered who...) once posted the appropriate budget-setting technique for an anniversary dinner: First, call your accountant and lawyer for their help calculating how much a divorce would cost. Then spend extragantly on your celebration, while congratulating yourself on how much money you've saved. It's a fantastic strategy, I think.

      Happy Anniversary.

Bistro K, as mentioned above, is a great choice.

        Also consider La Cachette, perhaps.

You might consider Tagine -- it's not really a high-end kind of place, but it's cozy, comfortable and has very tasty food. I think the price on the tasting menu varies -- I was there recently for a birthday dinner and it was $42 per person. Service is very friendly, and it's definitely open on Sundays. Here's a link to a photo report by perceptor for more on the food:

Hatfield's is great, but not open on Sundays.

My parents and their friends had a terrific time at Blue Velvet on Saturday night and Irene at the LA Times liked it too, so I'd check that out.
