Hi everyone,

I just wanted to give a shoutout to this middle-eastern bakery on around 70th and 5th ave. in Bay Ridge. I am a big fan of m'amoul (sp?) (date or nut filled middle-eastern cookies dusted with powedered sugar) and theirs are the best I've tried in Brooklyn ( I have tried the ones @ Divine on Seventh Ave, @ Damascus on Atlantic Ave., and Mansoura on King's Highway). I have fallen so hard for the pistachio m'amoul @ Sweet Arayssi that I haven't gotten around to trying the walnut and date versions, but have a feeling they are just as moist/aromatic/yummy--Has anyone been to this place and tried other things? Any other recs for great m'amoul? General thoughts? Thanks in advance...

Great for you to give a shoutout for this little store - nice people. Tho, I didnt like the Sweet Arayssi Mamoul as much as either that at Damascus or D'Vine (D'Vine's is shipped in from Canada). ISweet Arayssi's was very fresh but the flavoring in the centers was not as complex. And I didint like the exterior shortbread quite as much, tho tastes could differ on this. At Damascus, you have to get the individually wrapped Mamoul - the little ones are too dry. Each one is flavored differently.
