I'm planning to go to a movie in at Chestnut Hill and would like to get sushi afterwards, preferably somewhere nearby. Any recommendations? Thank you!

      is this a joke?
if not, there's a movie theater across the street from oishii.

Seriously. It's like asking, "I'm going to be in Kenmore square for lunch and am wondering if there's somewhere nearby I could see a baseball game?" Oishii!!!

Oishi is definitely outstanding.....but also can be a long, uncomfortable wait. As an alternative, we sometimes go up the road to Sushi Man to Go (corner of Rt. 9 and Langley, outbound side). While not as imaginative, the fish is top quality and the prices are very reasonable. They are really nice people too....last time we were there for my daughter's bday and they gave her a beautiful set of laquered chopsticks.

oishi is truly memorable but as stated above, the wait can be very long and there's no real place to sit etc. Still, the sushi is the best. Period

Put your name down with your phone number & ask them to call you when your seats are ready, then head over to the Metropolitan Club bar and have a few cocktails. We've been doing so since it was Figs.
