Ann's Snack Bar (Atlanta)

An article in the Wall Street Journal proclaimed Ann's to have the best hamburgers in USA. Is anyone familar with it? Is it really that good? Would love to hear some chowhound discussion of the place.

  1. I've been wanting to go there for years since I live right around the corner. I've heard intimidating stories: Soup Nazi-ish, so I would like to recruit a veteran to take me. There are rumors that she is ready to retire and cash in on the offers from developers. The Snack Bar is a very unassuming building (shack) between a few urban renewal neighborhoods. I think the area "renewal" is what has brought her all the local and now national attention.
The link below is a neighborhood blog with comments from those who have experienced it first-hand. You'll have to scroll down to see the bit about Ann's.

    1. It was really, really good 5 years ago. I think there are a few burgers in Memphis that compete though.

Two rabbis walked into Ann's Snack Bar today. It really was that good, the neighborhodd is that ghetto, and Miss Ann is that controlling about who comes in and when. Bonus: civil war historical markers about Gen. McPherson, and my friend is a civil war buff.
