Trip to New Orleans

My wife, my six year old Son and I will be visiting the city this Thursday through Monday for St Patrick's Day. Amoung other things, we want to have Friday lunch at Galatoires. Do I need to wear a jacket for lunch and would a six year old be welcome?
Thanks for your help

  1. Hmm. Friday lunches are notoriously rowdy. I went once with my parents at around 2 pm on a Sunday, and we had the place to ourselves. I think you would enjoy it more with a child on a Sunday.

And while I think they are not so uptight about the jacket during lunch, locals wear them, and it's part of the experience. Please wear one.

    1. Yes, wear a jacket and don't worry about your 6-year old . It is noisy and crumbs abound, what could be more welcoming to parents.
