Lunch in Tarragona

We're going to Barcelona next week and may spend one day in Tarragona, focusing on the old city. Where [in the old city] should we have lunch? We'll have a well-behaved 4-month-old with us, so it shouldn't be super fancy-dancy, which we wouldn't want anyway ...

    1. We will be staying more than one day in Tarragona, so I'd love more than one recommendation if anyone has them. I too am looking more for the great local place that's reasonable, more than the high end place (though I wouldn't mind a couple of those suggestions).

      1. I've heard good things about the Calcots (traditional green onions from Catalonia - only available Feb-March) at a place called Les Fonts de Can Sala, which is traditional Catalan cuisine at an old Catalan rural home (masía). I can't vouch for it personally, but people I know have been and they say you really can't get more traditional and that the food is solid, though it isn't fancy, which might be up your alley. Not sure about price but I'm thinking it´s on the reasonable side.

I've also heard great things about Fortí de la Reina, which is on the water, with a really bad website:

Not sure if you read Spanish, but the reviews here are glowing, and list it at about 25 euros per person:

        1. Thanks, all! Will report back.
