Sorella Caffe in Fairfax
Yes, it's "caffe" spelled with 2 f's...but A+ in the food department.
My wife and I went to the Sorella Caffe in Fairfax on Wednesday night. A cheerful and cozy place with friendly and skilled wait staff. Two fireplaces were roaring away radiating their warmth throughout the dining room. Great atmosphere!
Once we were seated, our waiter brought over a quarter wheel of grana padano, digging out a generous complimentary slab for each of us. A complimentary dish of olives and basket of bread were also provided.
The menu is pretty much entirely Italian. I started out with one of the better Caesar salads around, followed by the lasagna. My wife had the pasta with calimari. Both dishes were very tasty and well made. Delizioso! We will be back.
I've not found any mention of Sorella Caffe on CH. It's definitely worth a visit. Perhaps rworange can stop by there and report...no doubt more eloquently myself.
This place is worth a six-year-later update. Three of us went there Thursday night and we all enjoyed it greatly. The food is old-school Italian done very well. The Eggplant Parmigiana was the best any of us had ever had. The wait staff was unfailingly knowledgeable, energetic, efficient, and friendly. There were a few tables with groups of people who were celebrating. The place has housed several restaurants in succession over a lot of years and probably hasn't changed at all; Fairfax-sort-of-funky, lots of wood and glass..
