Providence RI: Good jazz along w/ dinner?
is there anywhere you can go for a nice dinner (or appetizers and drinks) and some good, live jazz entertainment in providence? it feels like a well-kept secret, hailing from boston.
thanks in advance for your tips!

When I think of Jazz and food together, I think of the Hi-Hat in the Jewelry District ( http://www.thehihat.com ). With the Hi-Hat, it's usually very good food AND music... Also, Jewel (more of a bar/lounge than a restaurant) pops to mind as well, also in the Jewelry District ( http://www.jewelprov.com ).

My knowledge is not so thorough on this, but it does seem that good food and good jazz are not found in the same places. There used to be (and likely still is) jazz at CAV, for example, where the food is good, but the jazz, not so much. Chan's in Woonsocket is known to be a good venue and its owner, John Chan, really loves music and makes a lot of effort to get good jazz into his place----but the food is straight-up, Americanized Chinese (not bad at all, but that's what it is).
