San Diego- Sunday and Monday!

We're off to San Diego (from Orange County) for Sunday and Monday:

Sunday, first stop at a museum in Balboa Park, then walk around Coronado, and the Gaslamp District. Where's a good place for lunch (I love excellent sandwiches, but something a little nicer is ok too). Where in the Gaslamp should we have dinner?

Monday we will be at the zoo- is there a decent place in the zoo for lunch? Thanks!!

I agree with The Prado in Balboa Park and have heard good things about Alberts recently. Can't help with the gaslamp--I stay away usually, though it's fun to meu walk.

There actually IS a good place for lunch in the zoo - Albert's. Nice view, good food - beats the stuff they sell at the kiosks! There's also The Prado in Balboa Park. Dinner in the Gaslamp is a crapshoot. Places recommended on this board have been Bandar, Oceannaire, Chive, Dobson's (more downtown than Gaslamp), Red Pearl, and Cafe Chloe (though this is closer to the ballpark). Enjoy your visit, and report back on your dining experience!
