Best authentic Mexican in Philadelphia area

RobinM Mar 10, 2007 08:46 AM

We're new to the area and looking for recs for the best authentic Mexican in the area. Philadelphia, Norristown and in between. We've heard of Las Casuellas haven't been yet. Any other recs greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Norristown is fabulous for Mexican. I love the taquerias on the side streets. Very inexpensive, authenitc food. There is the more "upscale" place on Main St. (I forget the name)

I do believe that there was a thread about this in the past. I am not good with remembering names of restaurants, so that may be your best bet. Funny that I can usually remember what I ordered though.

There is an outpost of New Britain's Los Serapes in Blue Bell, not far from Norristown. They are on Skippack Pike and 202. Always dependablly good food.

Probably my fave in that area though is Tamarindo's further down Rte 73 towards BroadAxe/Ambler. Fun place and good food.
