Can we have an update on Pre-Theatre dinner spots?

twodales Mar 10, 2007 07:00 AM

Did a search but most of the recommendations given for pre-theatre spots are a bit old. We are open to anything as long as the food is good. Everything else is frosting on the cake. Thanks all.

What theater? In the loop, where most of the big, commercial theaters are the basic recommendations haven't changed:

    -Atwood Cafe
    -Trattoria 10
    - Catch 35

Others on this board always recommend the pre-theater prix fixe meal at Everest, which is supposed to be wonderful. I haven't been, though.

There are more places, but you would have seen them on the other threads.

I'm not sure I understand the question.

Are you primarily interested in places in the Loop, so that they are close by for a theater performance afterward? If so, this topic has lots of good recommendations, including the ones that Suz mentioned: www.chowhound.com/topics/370730

Or, alternatively, are you looking for good deals for those who don't mind eating early? If so, places that offer such deals include (in addition to the ones in the Loop Suz mentioned) NoMi, Avec, Signature Room at the 95th, Custom House, and Le Lan, none of which are right in the Loop.

Yes, I am looking for dining recs. in the Loop. We would probably eat around 6 with a show at 8. Just looking for a good dining experience whether high end or low. When I did a search most of the posts were old. Thank you for your input.

We've settled on the Atwood Cafe. We'll try Trattoria 10 some other time.
