Any recs for great Indian Midtown?

I will be in visiting Manhattan for next week for business and have only one night to go to dinner. My friend and I would love to go to a great Indian restaurant. As we will already be Midtown anywhere close to there would be great, but we can certainly venture to other parts of the city... Thanks!

  1. Devi is not in midtown though not very far south (on 18th St., b/t B'way & 5th Av.) and definitely worth traveling to. Superb Indian cuisine served in a large space with unique, elegant decor. In addition to the a la carte menu, they offer two tasting menus, one of which is vegetarian, and you can do wine pairings.

    1. I concur with the Devi recommendation. If, you cannot schlep downtown though, I would recommend Bukhara Grill on E. 49th St. for a good midtown alternative.

      1. Try Dawat on 58th and 3rd -- very good, and they have some great tasting menus as well.

        1. 2nd the suggestions for dawat or bukhara grill. there's also mint but i've never been:
