Saturday Night Suggestions?
OK, we are Montreal foodies, French hubby cooks better than most chefs, and we have a babysitter but no reservations for this Saturday night. Tried LaPorte--booked. Thought about AREA since we hadn't been in a while, and only seating was at 6 something---too early! We are over PDC'd and were sadly disappointed with Joe Beef a few weeks ago as well as underwhelmed by MILOS a month ago. Your best suggestions for an interesting and GOOD meal at a resto where we we have a chance at reservations? Thought maybe Lémiac but wondering if there aren't better out there......what do you chowsters say?

You might also want to try Les deux singes de Montarvie on Saint-Viateur. Great food...

re: foodismyfriend
Zumaia is Pinxto's sibling; the cuisine is "Basque" oriented, from both side of the border, french basque with some spanish basque influence and the other way around.
I went there couple of months ago, and was happy with the experience, but at the time, the restaurant was young and needed a bit more "rodage"
