Grinding Meat in KA Stand Mixer
I've never had a problem with mine, never saw any filings either. The only problem I have with it is the plastic housing is cracked.
A neat trick I learned from the Bouchon cookbook with grinding meat was that as you put the last of the meat into the hopper add a piece of plastic wrap folded into a square. It pushes the last of the meat out but won't be ground. Then just takes stuff apart and throw wrap away.
