Barcelona: Need a restaurant suggest for biz reception.
Looking to host a cocktail/tapas reception in April for a business event. We'll probably have around 50 people. Function is strictly social (no AV requirements, etc.).
Ideally it's a nicer place, good tapas, drinking package, and charming. I'd like to be on the Ramblas or by the port, and live music would be nice.
Any thoughts? TIA.
Barcelona Locals - could you help this guy out, please? He posted this on another travel website & I suggested he post here, as local hounds would be full of suggestions... Muchas Gracias!
Hmmm, there is Moo at the Hotel Omm. It's not at the Port or on Las Ramblas, but very social and trendy. They might be able to work something out with you as far as drinks/food, but it's more Mediterranean cuisine than it is tapas.
At the Le Meridien on Las Ramblas there is a restaurant that just opened in October/November called Cent Onze311, that might also be good. I remember they had closed it for a private party one night while we were there. They have a piano bar area too. I believe they may have a tapas menu, but I believe it's also Mediterranean food.
Hotel Arts (which is a Ritz Carlton) might have a function room that can be of use too. It's on the water and quite pretty!
Near the Hotel Arts is a good restaurant called Bestial. It's also on the water. We liked to dine outside there for lunch and look at the Mediterranean Sea. I believe both the outdoor and indoor areas could accommodate 50 people and would be the type of atmosphere you're looking for.
Hope this helps a little.
Thanks, HeatherFL. Hotel Arts looks very nice, but is probably a touch too formal. I'm intrigued by Bestial and will investigate further!
Hope it works out!
Just a note we actually did end up dining in Cent Onze311 and it was really good food. It's in the thick of things on Las Ramblas. However, I think Bestial would be the better choice! Once you go into their website, the words that are bolded-you can click on and they'll take you to different photographs and descriptions. It's probably obvious to a lot of people, but it wasn't obvious to me. ;)
Let us know what route you end up taking!
