Going to Peasant tonight and was wondering what's not to miss.

The duck appetizer is great. I have gotten it both times I've been and may get it every time I go. Not sure about the downstairs, but the one time I was in there, it was much more crowded than the restaurant upstairs and it didn't look like anyone was really eating. I'd sit upstairs with the big oven anyway.

gnocchi and lasagna are very good

the tripe appetizer (braised in tomato sauce in the wood oven) and the bucatini all'amatriciana. it was a while ago, but hopefully this is still good advice.

Just thought of another question...my date would like to sit downstairs.

Is the full menu available downstairs or just appetizers?
