Help! Need some recs for Inexpensive good pre-opera dinner near Lincoln Ctr

I have three operas to go to in the upcoming months at Lincoln Center. I am open to any cuisine, but would prefer something suitable for a budget conscious couple (after all we spent too much $$ on the tickets!) If you know of any exceptional prix-fixe nearby, please post! Thanks in advance.

As recommended, the prix-fixe at Compass has been outstanding every time I've gotten it. Plus Compass has the best bread basket and some of the best desserts in the City. Also reasonable and nice is Arte Cafe.

Rosa Mexicano has good, upsale Mexican but it's definitely on the expensive side. Sapphire Indian is pretty good; nice decor and a notch above the usual Indian restaurant. Shun Lee is expensive, but the cafe in the front is less expensive and casual.

Compass's 3-course prix-fixe is $35, an excellent value for food of what feel is superior quality.

At La Boite en Bois, the teensy French bistro, the 3-course pre-theater prix-fixe is $34. We haven't been there in ages, but the food was very good at that time, and I've not read any recent negative reports.
