Westside Weekend Lunch

bcrall Mar 7, 2007 11:30 PM

Seems like every Saturday DH and I are out running errands around the noon hour and need to find a place to grab a bite. And we can never think of anything! We usually end up at an old standby like In & Out or Tacos Por Favor, and they're getting a little tired. Tender Greens is a promising new entry as well but we aren't always that far east.

So, what I'm looking for are suggestions of counter-service type places where we can pop in for a quick (good parking a +++) but tasty bite for $20-25 for two (entree & soda). In the Culver City/Marina Del Rey/Mar Vista/Venice/Santa Monica environs. No particular cuisine except we try to eat somewhat healthfully, In & Out being an exception of course!

This recent discussion of Mar Vista should be a good starting place to gather lunch ideas from.

A couple of other places that I don't recall me being covered in that earlier thread, and both have counter service, are Pepey's Galley in the front of the Mar Vista Bowling Alley at the NE corner of Grandview and Venice Blvd. (just east of Centinela) and very close to Tender Greens on Washington Blvd. is Rutt's Cafe which has Hawaiian and Japanese influenced dishes.
