Fresh garlic in Santa Fe?

Anyone know where I can buy some good fresh garlic in Santa Fe right now? The garlic we got yesterday at Whole Foods is crappy.

  1. Have you tried the "Dorot" frozen garlic cubes from Trader Joes? I live in LA but did visit the Santa Fe TJ a few months ago and it appeared to me they carried similar items ... you might give them a call to check... they are very good and so easy to use ... i'll never go back to peeling and chopping "fresh" garlic. s.

    1. Only option I can offer is the Farmer's Market; a block away off of Paseo de Peralta within the Railyard before they go outdoors in April (open Saturday 'till noon). Not sure if anyone there, yet, has fresh, spring garlic but they are the only alternative to the ubiquitous Whole Foods in Santa Fe. Sorry, but before Whole Foods, things were worse...

      1. You might try La MontaƱita co-op on Alameda for shi-shi garlic if you don't want to wait for the Farmer's Market.

Or any grocery store, if you can handle garlic that's not certified organic.
