Kosher Delis on Long Island

EZ Pass Mar 7, 2007 12:48 PM

I'm on the Nassau/Suffolk border and am willing to travel for a great corned beef sandwich. What are the Island's best kosher (or kosher-style) delis? Thanks.

I think all of the Ben's restaurants have slipped badly, some more than others. I wouldn't suggest any.

Over the years, I've found the most consistent to be Regal Deli in Plainview on Old Country Road.

Andel's; Roslyn Road just north of the LIE intersection.

Don't order the knockwurst special at Ben's in Greenvale. what is described as two knockwurst doesn't even amount to one. All else was satisfactory.

i work in plainview and recently tried Boomy's i found the Pastrami to be fatty, tough and a little flavorless. i didn't even finish it (never happened before). bens is so so. Andels in roslyn is great, the best in my opinion is Kensington deli in Great Neck. Great pastrami, but make sure you try their turkey sandwich as well, best i ever had

I like Zan's in Lake Grove where Ben's used to be.

Might want to try the Kosher board.
