Bachelorette party in Portsmouth NH area
I am having a problem. I am in charge of planning a bachelorette party for a friend. The problem that I am having is cost and another member of the bridal party insisting that we go into Boston, which is out of our price range. What I am looking for is a "Boston" good time, for a fraction of the cost in Portsmouth.
I need places that have great food at a reasonable price and maybe a few bars hopefully in walking distance from one another that have a good atmosphere, reasonable prices. I am new to the area and have no idea whats around. Any suggestions would be great.
Thanks in advance for your help!
I had a fun and delicious group dinner at Pesce Blue this past summer. They have outside seating too, which would be fun depending on time of year/weather.
It's is walking distance to lots of places.....Portsmouth Brewery and the Gas Light Co. both with decent food and excellent beer.
There's Lindbergh's Crossing which may be out of your price range but they have a cool wine bar type area upstairs. Also walking distance.
In my opinion, this is a great town for a party like this.
I've spent a lot of time in Portsmouth and think that as long as dinner is good you can roam around and find a good night out just bar hopping downtown. Lindbergh's is probably too pricey. Jumpin' Jays could work. They have good cocktails too. Gaslight and the Portsmouth Brewery (downstairs) would work when things get a little rowdier and both are next door to one another. There are bars along the water that can be fun at night but I would not eat dinner at any of them. I'm not sure when you're planning this but if the weather is nice you most certainly want to hit one of the bars on the water.
I am not sure when this party is going to take place but Gaslight is currently running a promo where you get into their upstairs nightclub for free if you dine there.
You would definitely want to call and verfiy before going.
For dinner, I am going to recommend Flatbread Company, tasty pizza and they do have a private room that you could reserve but it might be more fun to eat in the "main" dining area.
You could definitely bar hop once you are downtown. A few places to look into:
Red Door, Coat of Arms, Press Room. Also, downstairs at Muddy River they usually have live music.
