I've always wanted to check out the beautiful, historic interior of "The Caste" on Artlington St. so Restaurant Week was a great affordable opportunity. I was really surpried by the quality of the food and service since S & W doesn't always get the best reviews. The RW lunch listed a variety of choices ( menu from www.bostonusa.com site) :
Lunch
$20.07
Please choose one from each course
First Course
Mixed Greens Salad
Caesar Salad
S&W Famous Split Pea Soup
Soup Du Jour
Second Course
Filet Steak Sandwich
Wild Salmon
½ Lemon Pepper Chicken
Tuna Nicoise Salad
Jeff Wollensky’s Butcher Burger
Dessert
Key Lime Pie
Chocolate Cake
Vanilla Crème Brulee
Ice Cream or Sorbet

We selected the soup for first course ( split pea & soup du jour-lentil) which was a perfect choice for this cold, blustery March day. The waiter made quite a presentation of pouring the soup from a pitcher into the bowl and garnishing with croutons. Entrees selected were salmon with grilled peppers and the burger platter ( huge, grilled sirloin burger on brioche bun accompanied by crispy, seasoned fries, cole slaw, and a pickle). An incredibly tasty burger. Looking at their regular lunch menu- this burger platter is priced at $10. What an incredible deal- will definitely go back and order again for a burger fix. Desserts selected were chocolate cake ( lightly layered with mousse) and creme brulee. Very tasty. The service was very smooth and professional. Made guests feel very comfortable-no RW attitude. The manager dropped by and chatted with diners- adding to the warm and inviting atmosphere. Took a tour of all 4 flours- beautiful paintings, historic uniforms, elaborate woodwork and lighting, and other interesting artifacts.
