Burmese-Den Bao Rice-Inland Empire??

t2r Mar 6, 2007 01:15 PM

anyone know of where to order this dish.. it is like a fried rice but Burmese style, called Den Bao. I may be spelling it wrong... It is a Burmese fried rice dish with basmati rice, saffron, chicken. I have had this as a home made dish thru a friend, but it isn't always easy to get. This is such a wonderful rice dish.. I love it. It is also served with a side of cucumber salad (has vinegar on it) and some spices. There is a version of this in Little India in Artesia, but not the Burmese style I am looking for.

**This is my first time posting, but used this site before for good recommendations.**

Thank you in advance!

p.s. INLAND EMPIRE location would be ideal.

There's a restuarant in the Pico Area (Japantown) that serves this Burmese version and it is really good. It is served by an Indian Restuarant I believe (the owner though is Burmese). You can special order it from a Burmese cook that lives in LA.

Take a look at the link below and if it's the same dish, than you can get it at the Golden Triangle in Whittier.
