St. Louis Cooking Classes - recommendations?

marthadumptruck Mar 5, 2007 05:37 PM

I am interested in taking some cooking classes. I am a beginner/intermediate home cook looking to increase my skills.

Do any of you have any recommendations of cooking/baking classes in the STL area?

I have been reading about Kitchen Conservatory . . . does anyone have experience with this company?

Thanks!

You should look into the Dierberg's grocery chain. Most of their locations have a kitchen and they offer a range of classes every month. They even do them for kids. http://www.dierbergs.com/dierbergs.co...

    Hope that helps!

Be aware that the Dierberg's classes are demo only (as far as I know), and that Kitchen C. has both demo and hands-on classes.

My daughter took a teen baking class at the Kitchen Conservatory last summer. She enjoyed it very much. The location was convenient for us---it is about 4 blocks away from the Galleria Metrolink stop as well.
COCA in U. City also offers cooking classes, a couple of which my daughter took several years ago.
Whole Foods has classes that sound great, but I have no personal experience with them.
The MO Botanical Gardens has cooking as well as gardening classes.
I think the Viking Range store has classes as well.
      Good luck, p.j.

Try the Viking store at Brentwood. They have a wide variety of classes available.
