IL Villino, Waldwick, NJ

Does anyone know what happened to Il Villino in Waldwick, NJ? We tried to go there and it's closed up and about to become a bank. Hopefully they just moved. Thanks

  1. No, they're gone. Go up the block on East Prospect (strip mall) to Andrea's, it's way better anyway plus BYOB.

    1. I hate to disagree - but we really don't like Andrea's AT ALL. Anyway - we had some great meals at Il Vilino and miss it. The owner now is the manager at Oceano's in Fairlawn - we noticed him when we ate there a few months ago - apparently retirement didnt suit him.

      1. I respect your opinion, and to be honest I've waited much too long at Andrea's on several occasions, but once I've been seated I can say I've never had a bad meal there. I've always found everything to be very fresh and very good; his sauces, IMO, are especially delicious. I found Il Villino to be stuffy and overpriced, and catered to an older crowd (not that there's anything wrong with that!) but it's whatever you like, that's why they have horse races. The worst part about Il Villino closing is that the last thing Waldwick needs is yet another bank, but at least it wasn't yet another nail parlor or yet another pizza place, which also overcrowd downtown.
