Pre-Theater prix fixe

Looking for a theater district recommendation for a nice prix fixe dinner - not over the top expensive - good wine list a plus. I was shooting for Becco, but they're booked the night I'm looking for. Anything else along that line that you can suggest? Thanks!

  1. I am not a fan of Becco, so I, for one, think you're lucky they're booked. In my view, there's far superior pasta to be had at other Theater District Italians, to say nothing of places where you won't have to contend with an insanely high noise level.

Cascina, on 9th Av., b/t 45th & 46th Sts., is one of our favorites. Very good Italian food. Excellent wine list. Good service. Pleasant, rustic setting. They have a pre-theater dinner prix-fixe for $24.50. There is only one pasta on that menu; however, there are many excellent pasta choices on the a la carte menu (I adore their homemade ravioli no matter what the filling), and prices are quite reasonable.

    1. I think Dervish is the best in the whole theatre district. It is a Turkish restaurant, and I love Turkish food, but, if you have guests that are not really into ethnic dishes, there is something for everyone. I have never had a bad experience there. You can get a prix fixe meal for around 22 or $23 and it is always consistantly good. The food is great--check it out.
