  1. There is a market in the West Loop, I believe on Peoria and Lake, that has uncooked suckling pig. I may have the cross-street wrong, but I'm positive it's on Lake underneath the El tracks.

    1. I bought one in December at Halsted Packing House at 445 N Halsted. Was pretty cheap too. The 19 lb'r was less that $40. Call about a week in advance of pick up.

      1. jefsloan,

any idea what is the smallest you can get between 12-16 lb ?

        1. I requested one between 15 and 20 lbs. I had heard that 20lb was the limit to fit in my oven. They wound up supplying a 19lb suckling. It fit fine. It even fit in my turkey pan after I curled the legs underneath it. I think a 25lb pig would easily fit in my oven, which is standard sized, but my turkey pan would have been too small.
