Shouldn't the subtitle of of this board list "southwestern connecticut" instead of "southeastern"?

Southeastern CT belongs on the New England board.

Yes, absolutely. It's a chow error.

I'm new here and a bit confused...what parts of CT are considered part of the "tristate region" as delineated by this board...I don't see many postings for Norwalk, Westport, Fairfield restaurants...are they fair game here? Thanks!

kbfood, yes. I'm in Westchester and but from what I see it's it's definitely all of Fairfield County. Not sure about east of that but likely western part of New Haven county and maybe Litchfield. The rest is for the New England Board I believe.

You are in the right place though.

FFD county normally included in TriState as first choice and New England as a larger board.

          Welcome

I think the entire state of Connecticut should be on the tristate board that way we wouldn't have this problem. It would make searching and posting easier.

            What do you guys think???

Personally, I think tri-state board should be limited to areas commutable to NYC but that's just me. Personally, Western CT is relevant for me, Eastern CT is not. When I am traveling to Eastern CT I search the New England Board.

                I agree.

I've always understood "tri-state area" as the greater NY metropolitan area- northern NJ, western LI, Westchester County, and Fairfield County.

People post all the time about Montauk which is across the sound from New London. There are even posts about the Albany area on the tristate board. All of CT belongs on the tristate board, this would make it easier to check the postings instead of checking tristate and New England.

There was just an entire discussion now moved to the site talk board from this one. It centered on the question about whether upstate ny belonged on the tristate board. Many, myself included, felt it did not and needed it's own board.

With respect to your comment about LI and CT, unless we have a seperate board for Eastern Long Island, Montauk and the Hamptons and such would have nowhere else to go if not included on the TriState board. On the other hand, New London is pretty close to Rhode Island and certainly much closer than Montauk for a dinner run, hence the New England board seems appropriate.

"All of CT belongs on the tristate board"

No thank you. I don't feel like I'm (Hartford area) in the NYC Metro area in any sense, but I'm quite sure I live in New England.

Bad Sneakers I don't want to open up that can of worms. Is CT closer culturally to NY or New England, there is no way I want to go there. I'm just saying it would be easier if there was only one board for CT.

Don't tell my boss, but when I get to the office in the morning I will check the boards to see what is going on in the wonderful chow world of CT. And it would be easier if all the posts were located on one board.

It's not a can of worms, in fact it's pretty cut-and-dry: there are two Connecticuts.

The greater NY metropolitan area includes more than just Fairfield County in Connecticut. It also includes Litchfield and New Haven County.

People have been posting to the wrong boards which isn't the end of the world but it would be easier if there was just one board. I have noticed that people are starting to post questions to both boards because they aren't from the Northeast and they are confused about which board to post to.

My solution would be to give Connecticut it's own board.

JohnnyCT - whereever the border line is for a board it will put some people in the position of having to check more than one board. For those of us in Westchester (particularly Southern Westchester) and in Western CT if CT had it's own board, we'd all have to check two of them - the TriState and the CT to see if anything was of interest.

They say, ”You can’t please all of the people all of the time.”

However, in my case I can’t even please some of the people some of the time with my suggestions. :)

It's all good, Johnny. By the way, I really appreciate your reviews of Latin restaurants in CT. :)
