Anyone know of any?

TIA,
Jimmy H.

I'd be interested to know other's recommendations as well. The best that I have had in town were at The Field in the gaslamp. In North County, im unsure.

There are a couple of Pubs in San Marcos that ppl have recced me. I think "Churchills" and or "Penny Lane."

There is a place called Pelly's Fish Market you may want to check out - again havent been here.

I haven't tried their fish and chips yet, but King's Fish House in Carlsbad might be worth a try, if you haven't gone there already.

I have eaten a few things at Pelly's and they have all been pretty good, though I have not had and do not know if they serve fish and chips. They do have quite the selection of seafood in general though; it is very casual and you may purchase fish for cooking at home as they are also a fish market. Besides the suggestions above, you might also try the fish and chips at the Karl Strauss brewery near Legoland. D.B Hackers in Encinitas used to be my choice, but they sold off the business about three years ago. Also, I could swear that I had a pretty decent rendition at the Brigantine in Del Mar, but I don't see it on their menu anymore. Perhaps it was a special.

You could try Harbor Fish and Chips at the Oceanside Harbor - not far from Carlsbad.

My assistant, who is a Scot, just went to King's this weekend and said the fish and chips were pretty good.
